Vanartsdalen Leads Bloomsburg Field Hockey to 10th Straight Win

BLOOMSBURG-- Jamie Vanartsdalen (Huntington Valley/Lower Moreland) scored four goals and added an assist as the top-ranked Bloomsburg University field hockey team won their 10th straight game with a 5-1 victory over East Stroudsburg.

Vanartsdalen got the Huskies on the board 16 minutes into the game off of an assist by Morgan Wolf (Oley/Oley Valley). The Warriors answered back with under ten minutes to play in the half when Ashley Kocis scored on an assist from Sarah Cordora. However, Vanartsdalen and Wolf teamed up once again in the 30th minute to give Bloomsburg a 2-1 lead at the half.

The second half was dominated by the Huskies as Vanartsdalen opened up the period with her third goal, this one unassisted. Her fourth goal, off of a Chelsea Due (Pen Argyl/PenArgyl) assist, gave Bloomsburg a 4-1 lead at the 57 minute mark. Samantha Kropa (Tunkhannock/Lackawanna Trail) scored with less than four minutes to play off of an assist from Vanartsdalen to make the final score 5-1 in favor of the Huskies.

In goal, Tracey Hudak (Sweet Valley/Lake Lehman) stopped five shots for the Huskies, while Crystal Condran racked up 23 saves for East Stroudsburg (6-3, 4-3).

Bloomsburg (10-0, 6-0) remains undefeated on the season and will take on second- ranked Shippensburg this Saturday at noon at Sports Stadium in Bloomsburg.
